In line with Dubai Customs’ strategy to enhance digital transformation, simplify customs procedures, and support the smooth flow of trade in accordance with international best practices, the department continues to develop its digital services to meet customer expectations and enhance the customer experience.

In this context, Dubai Customs announces the launch of Phase One of the Digital MAKASA Initiative, effective 25 January 2026, via the Dubai Trade Portal. This phase enables customers to complete MAKASA procedures for direct imports digitally, without the need to visit customs service centers.

Key Features

  • Providing a fully digital experience that enables customers to submit MAKASA Stamp (Due Number) requests through the Dubai Trade Portal 24/7, instantly and independently, without visiting service centers.
  • Issuing the MAKASA Stamp (Due Number) in digital format, replacing the paper-based process.

 

Implementation Scope

Phase One of the Digital MAKASA Initiative applies to the following customs declaration types destined for GCC countries:

  • Import to the local market from the rest of the world
  • Import to the local market from a Free Zone
  • Import to the local market from a Customs Warehouse

Steps to Obtain the Digital MAKASA Stamp

Customers can obtain the Digital MAKASA Stamp through three simple steps via the Dubai Trade Portal:

1. Access the Dubai Trade Portal

  • Log in using your customer credentials.
  • Navigate to the Digital MAKASA service through the following path:
    Mirsal II → Declaration → Manage MAKASA (Due Number)

2. Search for the Relevant Customs Declaration

  • Once on the Manage MAKASA (Due Number) page, search for and select the relevant direct import declaration.
  • Submit a request to generate the MAKASA Due Number.

3. Download and Print the Digital MAKASA Stamp

  • Download the digital PDF file containing the official MAKASA Stamp (barcode) and the MAKASA Due Number.
  • Print the MAKASA Stamp on the back side of the customs declaration.

Dubai Customs encourages all customers to take advantage of the Digital MAKASA Initiative for direct imports, as it offers faster procedures, higher efficiency, and a simplified customer experience.
