Fire Prevention and Protection Guidelines
As temperatures soar in the summer, it is important that all Jafza tenants take the necessary precautions to reduce fire risks.
To ensure safety, please follow these guidelines:
- Avoid accumulating waste materials under direct sunlight near to office / warehouse premises.
- Regularly check air conditioning units and all other electrical appliances, especially during summer identify and fix any issues.
- Never leave mobile phones charging overnight inside warehouses or offices.
- Don't leave exhaust fans running for long periods, especially during the summer.
- Ensure fire extinguishers are inspected regularly and in serviceable condition.
- Practice an emergency drill with your teams to familiarise them with emergency procedure during a fire incident.
Reporting procedure: Tenants must notify the authorities (EHS PCFC and Jafza) regarding any unsafe conditions or activities that pose a potential fire risk for timely intervention and corrective action.
Hot work operations must comply with the NFPA 51B standard for Fire Prevention During Welding, Cutting and Other Hot Work.
Each Jafza tenant must designate a Programme Manager responsible for the fire prevention programme to make sure it is carried out effectively.
No Smoking Policy: Must be strictly enforced inside warehouses, factory units and all applicable facilities within Jafza. An adequate number of no-smoking sign should be posted at prominent locations.
Wherever smoking is permitted, safe receptacles for smoking materials must be provided.
Handling & Storage of hazardous material: - Tenants must obtain approval from competent authority (EHS PCFC) for handling and storing hazardous materials, including the quantity to be stored.
Tenants must also prioritise accident prevention through regular risk assessment and safety audits.
Important: Electrical short-circuits and unsafe storage of combustible materials are common causes of fire incidents. Tenants should address these risks by installing overcurrent protective devices, switches, circuit breakers, and ensuring proper electrical load distribution.

As a responsible free zone, we make continuous efforts to provide a secure and sustainable environment for our business community to thrive in.
We have recently observed some tenants and contractors leaving unwanted items and waste in the free zone premises. Thus, violating the Waste Management protocol.
We urge all customers to adhere to the Waste Management and Health and Safety standards of PCFC-EHS by using approved waste disposal contractors for proper disposal.Kindly click on the below options to review the protocols:

NIP Waste Disposal Reminder
As a part of our responsibility and dedication to maintain a safe and secure environment, we closely monitor and enforce compliance with various protocols and environmental standards.
Recently, it has come to our attention that there have been instances of illegal dumping of construction debris in various open plots within NIP. These actions are in violation of our protocols.
Please follow these steps to ensure you are disposing waste in a manner that meets the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation’s Environment, Health and Safety standards.
Construction Debris Removal:
- All construction debris must be removed from the site by a third-party transport service provider approved by Trakhees EHS.
- You must obtain a Trakhees EHS collection permit/vehicle pass before removing any debris.
- Retain all receipts and evidence of the permits/passes and the collection and disposal for verification by the Trakhees CED Inspection Engineer.
- Coordinate the waste disposal with the area Inspection Engineer for a smooth and efficient process.
