    In line with the UAE Government direction to take all preventive measures to eliminate the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), we’ve shared earlier a set of precautionary measures to safeguard the health and wellbeing of individuals, and to ensure business continuity in each of our business units.

    Believing in our principles, social responsibility, and intensify all our efforts to contain the virus, we urge you to continue instruct your employees in Jafza staff accommodation to strictly adhere to the instructions and directives issued in this regard. These procedures include but not limited to the following:

    • While waiting for the bus, line up in a line with 2 meters distance between labours.
    • Hand sanitiser to be kept at bus entrance, and labours must sanitise their hands on entry.
    • Labours to sit in a zigzag shape were one labour sits alone next to window and the next labour sits alone at the aisle side.
    • No staff should be walking to go to work or come back to the accommodation.
    • Avoid roaming around restaurants and supermarkets. Food and essential grocery needs are available via delivery only.

    Finally, all employees working in the Free Zone and residing in Staff Accommodations must wear face masks at all times in work premises and common areas. A fine of AED 1,000 shall be imposed (within two working days) on the company if their employee is found violating this regulation.

  • Guidelines to Ensure Road Safety in DAZ

    In line with our aim of ensuring the safety and security of our customers in Dubai Auto Zone (DAZ) and reducing the risk of road traffic injuries, we would like to remind you about following essential road safety guidelines. Let’s pledge to make our roads safer by adhering to the below:

     

    - Ensure that you have a valid driving license, active car registration and an appropriate number plate on your vehicle.
    - The maximum speed limit on DAZ roadways is 30 km/h. To avoid harming others, disrupting traffic flow, or damaging DAZ facilities, please stay within the speed limit.
    - Use beacon lights to alert other road users.
    - Pay heed to the warning signs and safety cones.
    - Avoid the use of cell phones while driving.
    - Parking in non-designated areas is strictly forbidden.
    - Use PPE to interact with others while driving or when your vehicle has multiple users or passengers.

     

    Please note that in case of failure to comply with the above, violators will be penalised.

    We draw your attention that the Inspection Department in Jafza discovered that few companies isolated their employees who returned from overseas travel in the accommodation buildings without getting the prior approval from Environment, Health & Safety Department, violating the provisions mentioned in the circular, titled “Approval for Resumption of Employee/Staff returning from Overseas Travel”, aimed at protecting the community, and reducing the possibility of spreading any possible infection among the community.

    Believing in our principles, social responsibility, and intensify all our efforts to contain COVID-19, we urge everyone to adhere to the instructions and directives issued regarding quarantine procedures.

    Therefore, we stress that huge administrative penalties shall be imposed on all violators as well as legal actions as stipulated by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), due to the damages they may cause by putting the economic base of communities and individuals at risk.

    We urge every customer to adhere to all the precautionary measures stated in the circulars regulating the procedures of resumption of employees returning from overseas travel, and to contribute to maintain a healthy and safe environment for the people in Jafza.

    We must all avoid crowded places and strictly adhere to the precautionary measures, including maintaining physical distancing and using face masks. Elderly people and individuals with chronic conditions are also advised not to attend social functions.

    Individuals attending gatherings, and establishments organising the celebrations, can avoid violations and other penalties by abiding by the precautionary measures.

    The health and safety of all members of society is a top priority. We urge all to strictly follow the preventive protocols and safeguards in place to protect all community members from any health risks.

    Further to the circular issued last month, titled: “Approval for Resumption of Employee/Staff returning from Overseas Travel” (click here to read the full circular), we would like to draw your attention that employees returning from outside the UAE must be in quarantine for (7) days, and the “Negative” PCR test result, conducted by the authorities upon arrival at UAE airports, shall be submitted.

    After completing the mandatory quarantine period, another PCR test shall be done, and the “negative” cases can join the work after obtaining prior approval from EHS Department.

    Please note that leasable places will be allocated to receive workers (residing at Jafza staff accommodation) returning from outside the UAE to spend the mandatory 7-day quarantine period.
