Cancellation of the delay fine for not renewing/ annulling the Customs Representative Card

Following the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in respect of the new economic stimulus package announced by H.H. Chairman of Executive Council which includes initiatives aimed to reduce the cost of doing business and boost the trade sector in Dubai such as the cancellation of delay fines for all government services. Therefore, we have decided to implement this initiative through the cancellation of fines resulting from the delay in renewing/ annulling the Customs Representative Cards (AED 50/- per month) till 30th June 2020.
Note: Please arrange to cancel the Customs Representative Card via Dubai Trade Portal in case you do not wish to renew it.

Fine Reduction on the cases of Violation of Customs Law, committed before 31st March 2020

As a relief measure to the Traders during this economic slowdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Dubai Customs have announced granting a fine reduction on the cases of Violation of Customs Law, committed before 31st March 2020.
Please refer to the Customs Notice-7/2020 In view of the issuance of the above Customs Notice, and introduction of a new facility, Dubai Customs have implemented two new services to submit a request for Reduction of Customs Fines imposed on violation of Customs Law up to 80% and to make the payments of outstanding Invoices/Demand Notices in instalments. The following are the new services introduced in Dubai Trade under “Pay Customs”
- “Request Fines Reduction”
- “Request for Payment by Instalments”
The request for Fine Reduction of 80% shall be acceptable if the Customs or Judiciary have given the final decision and the Client is ready to withdraw if any appeal request for Revision on Fine is pending with Customs Grievance Committee or before the Courts.
The reduction shall be applicable only to the balance amount of Fine pending for settlement.
The service of Request for Fine reduction is classified into three types such as Customs Cases, Customs Audit, and Custom Grievance. Customer must select the appropriate Service Type. The customer shall be able to settle the amount of reduced Fine before 31/12/2021.
The Customer must provide with the information of Business Code, Company Name, Contact Details, Case No, Invoice/Demand Notice No, and Customs Declaration No, Value of the Customs Fine etc. as an attachment. Upon successful submission, the Customs shall approve the request after verifying the information.
If the request is for facilitating the payment in instalment, then the Customs shall notify the Customer by e-mail to submit the postdated Cheques to an authorized Cashier at the Cargo village Customs Office after Customs Approval.
