In line with the annual initiative of the Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation to protect employees from the extreme summer heat, we want to remind you that a mandatory midday break is in effect until 15 September 2024.

Working under the direct sunlight and outdoors is prohibited between 12:30 PM and 3:00 PM to prevent heat exhaustion, heat stress and other heat-related illnesses.

In exceptional cases where work must continue, employers must provide cold water and other items recommended by UAE health authorities such as salt and lemon. They must also provide first aid at the worksite and get the necessary approvals from NIP.
