  • Changes in Issuance/Renewal of Residence Permits Process (Waiving Medical Fitness Test) – Update (2)

    Pursuant to the previous circular, titled “Changes in Residence Permits Renewal (Exemption from Medical Fitness Test)” dated 26th of March 2020, we would like to inform you that the Ministry of Health & Prevention (MoHAP) and the Federal Authority for Identity & Citizenship (ICA) announced a waiving of medical fitness test procedure while applying for residence permit renewal and an update on medical fitness test for new residence visa stamping. The new procedures shall be effective from Wednesday 01 April 2020, until further notice.

    Under the new update, the services mentioned will be enabled in the portal with minor changes that will be applicable until further notice.

    Residence Visa Renewal & Residence Visa Renewal with Employment Contract Amendment:

    As announced by MoHAP that the medical fitness test will be waived, customer is only requested to select the application type as “Normal”, and it shall process it via system automatically. Once Resident permits is renewed, customer shall receive a notification directly from GDRFA.

    Once the medical result is received, it shall be uploaded along with the Emirates ID biometric application as well as the rest of the required documents via the portal for our update as recently announced that no physical documents will be collected.

    Once Residence Permit is issued, customer shall receive a notification directly from GDRFA.

    Note:

    • Medical application fees shall be refunded upon customer request after Residence Permit stamping application is completed.
    • No medical application to be prepared, provided or uploaded for Residnet Permit Renewal.
    • No medical test will be processed in medical centers other than the below mentioned.

    As part of preventive and precautionary measures to contain COVID-19, the National Disinfection Programme has been renewed for two weeks from Saturday, 4th of April 2020, pursuant to the decision of Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management. Restrictions on the movement of vehicular traffic and the public are now extended to include daytime as well, covering 24 hours.

    Accordingly, kindly be informed that the following medical fitness centers will be temporarily closed during this period:

  • Changes in Residence Permits Procedures (Residents Permit Sticker)

    • Type: News

    Pursuant to the previous circulars with regard to changes in residence permits and Emirates ID procedures, kindly note that enhanced changes have been made, taking into account the specific circumstances and needs of businesses and individuals.

    Subject to the above mentioned changes, those willing to leave the UAE will be able to stamp the residence visa on their passport. Stamping shall be processed at Zajil Service Center – Emirates Post Deira Main Office Building, Abu Hail area, behind Abu Hail center, during the working hours from 07:30am to 01:30pm (Tel: 04 7018000 – Click here for the map).

    Please note that the residence visa shall only be stamped through the company's representative or PRO, by the following steps:

    • The Representative/PRO shall go to Zajil Service Center, Emirates Post Deira Main Office Building, for visa stamping (residents permit sticker) on the passport.
    • The Representative/PRO shall submit the original passport, copy of residence visa (received via e-mail), and a copy of the flight ticket.
    • The departure date must be within two weeks from the date of the application.

    Given the current situation in view of the pandemic caused by Coronavirus (COVID-19), we would like to inform you that the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Ministry of Health & Prevention and the Federal Authority for Identity & Citizenship announced waiving of medical fitness test procedure while applying for residence permit renewal.

    And under the new measures, the following services will be suspended temporarily until further notice:

    • Jafza RP Renewal
    • Jafza RP Renewal with EC Amend
    • Jafza Released Signed In


    Based on the above, Jafza Service Center will remain closed until further notice.

    In line with the directives of the Federal Authority For Identity & Citizenship, Customs & Port Security, we would like to inform you that the duration of the residence permit has been revised to one year and two years only. This will also apply to applicants who have submitted their documents through Dubai Trade recently for the purpose of renewing or stamping the residence permits.

     

    Therefore, the 3-year residence permit option will be disabled with immediate effect.

     

    Also, kindly note that the overstay fine has been increased to AED 50 per day.
