Resuming Dubai Economic Activities

We would like to draw your attention that Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, has announced the gradual reopening of business activities in Dubai from Wednesday 27th of May 2020. There will be no restriction on movement between 6 am and 11 pm. All businesses must follow precautionary measures to ensure safety and well-being of customer and staff.
The decision includes the following activities:
- Retail and wholesale.
- Airport, operating for returning UAE residents and transit passengers after authorities’ approval.
- Clinics, including ENT and dentistry, and expanding permitted elective surgeries to those with a duration of 2.5 hours.
- Educational and training institutes, and child learning and therapy centres.
- Sports academies, indoor gyms, sports and fitness clubs.
- Cinemas, with continued social distancing and regular disinfection in place.
- Entertainment and leisure, such as Dubai Ice Rink, Dolphinarium, etc.
- Auctions, with online auctions preferred over physical when possible.
- Outsourced government centres.
Rules that must be followed:
- Activities authorised to operate must abide by the timings of the national sterilisation programme.
- Social distance of two metres must be maintained by all.
- All those returning from abroad must adhere to a 14-day quarantine.
- Masks are obligatory and must be worn at all times.
- Sterilisation must continuously be carried out and only single-use utensils allowed.
- violators of rules and guidelines will be fined, according to the type of violation.
- Children under 12, elderly over 60 and those with chronic diseases and prone to infection, are not allowed to enter malls, cinemas, sports facilities and educational institutes.
- All offices and businesses can resume normal operating hours starting from today. Office employees shall resume work at 50% capacity from Sunday 31st of May 2020, and at 100% capacity from 14th of June 2020 as we continue our gradual return to normal life with intensified precautionary measures.
Certain employees will still be allowed to work from home including the elderly, people of determination, pregnant women and those of weak immune system.
