Dubai Trade shortlists nominees for 10th ESEA

AlMualem 1Dubai Trade, the technology-driven trade solution for global trade enabler DP World, has shortlisted nominees for its 10th E-Services Excellence Award (ESEA).

In its 10th year, the award is the first of its kind in the region to recognise organisations for adopting smart services in trade, shipping and logistics.

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, DP World Group Chairman & CEO,  said: “This event is a major milestone in the development of smart trade in Dubai and the UAE. The progress made in growing e-services and smart-service adoption rates underlines Dubai’s success as a global leader for smart trade, logistics and the maritime sector. Dubai Trade is one of the key contributors to this achievement.”

This year, the Award has added a new category to recognise users of the recently launched LogiGate app, encouraging companies to take advantage of the opportunities it provides. LogiGate features include the ability to exchange land freight services so increasing trucks operation capacities. It also provides competitive prices for the owners of containers and goods who can instantly track their shipments using their smartphones.

ESEA will continue to recognise companies that use other smart applications such as M-Token services, free zone services, clearance and payment services, and Innovation Award of the Year in trade and logistics.

The Dubai Export Development Corporation will also present two ESEA awards: New Exporter of the Year and Innovative Exporter of the Year.

Hussain Alblooshi, Acting Chief Operating Officer, Dubai Trade, said: “This event highlights an era of success in developing smart technology across our country establishing the UAE as a global leader in e-services. Our customers have played a major role in this development and deserve to be recognised for their contributions. . We are also grateful to our strategic partners and the Award’s sponsors who have played a key role in its success.”

The winners will be honoured later this month in a special ceremony attended by senior officials of DP World and trade and logistics professionals and sponsors including Al Futtaim Logistics, TechnoPro Middle East and Agility Logistics.
