Telecommunications Regulatory Authority


The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been established according to the UAE Federal Law by Decree No. 3 of 2003 – Telecom Law. TRA is responsible for the management of every aspect of the telecommunications and information technology industries in the UAE. Despite its relatively short life-span, TRA has exceeded expectations by achieving its projected goals in record time.





Ministry of Agriculture & Fisheries

Ministry of Agriculture & Fisheries is aiming to achieve the agricultural development plans and programs to formulate the agricultural policies and initiate the relevant legislations for the interest of the agricultural sector development.


Areas of responsibilities:

  • Creation of conductive environment for citizens to work in agricultural activities (cropping, livestock and fishing).
  • Cooperation with local government agents to spread vegetation and combat desertification and land degradation.
  • Encourage private sector to contribute in planting and livestock development endeavors.
  • Application of pests and epidemics control program and strategies.
  • Supply support to marketing of national production on an economical framework basis.
  • Tighten control on quality and health safety measures of food and seed products in coordination with the other competent organizations and institutions.
  • Establishment and management of research and applied studies centers and extension fields.
  • Cooperation and coordination with the Gulf Cooperation Council states with respect to the agricultural and environment issues.

Federal Customs Authority 


FCA is the authority concerned with customs affairs in the United Arab Emirates. It is working to unify, develop and improve customs policies, legislations and regulations, and supervise their implementation across the local departments of customs. In co-operation and coordination with concerned authorities, FCA targets protection of the state from smuggling and cheating operations, as well as fulfillment of the country's obligations in the international festivals.

Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA)

ESMA LOGO 220Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA) by virtue of federal law 28 of 2001 was established as standards body of UAE its mandated as reference in the country for all issues related to Standards, Metrology , conformity and Quality base on the following responsibilities :

Formulating and issuance of national standards of UAE as well as adopting international standards and mandatory standards issued by binding resolutions of the Council Ministers.

  • Working on environment safety , consumer protection, national market and  strengthening the national economy.​

  • Preparation of standard specifications for reviewing by the specialized technical committees.

  • Granting the Emirates Quality Mark for national products and issuing certificates of conformity of commodities to standards.

  • Accredit various types of CABs including testing & Calibration labs, medical labs, inspection bodies, product certification bodies and certification bodies for QMS, EMS and FSMS
  • Represent the country in regional and international conferences and organizations
